OVERVIEW

I am an experienced graphic designer based in Central Iowa, with a rich experience of over 2 decades in graphic design, photography and handlettering.

I graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University. My work experience ranges from a graphic designer at a large manufacturing company as well as a mega-church, to a server at a local Cajun/Caribbean/BBQ restaurant to an ad agency within a printing company to designing in the corporate world to owning my own photography business to store director of a high-traffic coffee shop. I bring fun and an optimistic attitude with me wherever I go. I love a few different F words — fonts, formatting and fussiness…. well, when it comes to being detail-oriented that is. For example, my bleeds aren’t just pulled out to whatever number they land on. I meticulously type in 0.125” for each bleed. My style is clean, and I can adapt to any project I am working on. My files and folders are organized. Making sure files are ready for production is very important — which makes my experience even more important (bleeds, crop marks, proofs, preflight… you got it). I love helping people and companies tell their stories in a beautiful way.

I’m a small-town Iowa girl thankful to be in the Midwest surrounded by a great family and great friends. I enjoy meeting new people and finding the good in all situations. I work hard and play hard, and have a good day when I learn something new.

Work closely with Leaders and Business Partners to manage and design projects from concept to delivery for various print and digital materials; advise and contribute to creative direction for brands and brand standards; work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software; translate complicated processes or concepts into easy-to-understand visuals; perform retouching and manipulation of images; ensure projects are executed in a timely manner, on schedule, obtain the necessary approvals, and reflect company quality and brand standards, maintain relationship and collaborates with print vendor; work independently and as part of a creative team; and come to the table with ideas to support the team’s marketing plans.

Designed and updated product catalog for multiple channels. Coordinated all printing and communications with local printer to get all 4 versions printed. Followed simplified brand guidelines on all projects to create a clean and cohesive look while reducing redundancies, yet still delivering on business needs. Some of my proudest accomplishments include the invitation for the NY on Mute stunt (an invitation with an added a sound component), elegant materials for shareholder board meeting (place settings, menu cards and amenity cards), and a self-mailing box for a new innovation.

Designed banners, brochures, posters, slides, bulletins, large-format printing, etc. for various ministries and events at our five campuses. Primary designer for Student Ministries and REVIVE. Member of the worship team and served as Alpha Host (20 sessions) since 2012.
